Conservative “Legal Group” Sues Wisconsin to Start Wolf Hunt Immediately

A conservative legal firm is suing Wisconsin's DNR on behalf of an out of state based “hunting” group to force it to schedule an immediate winter wolf hunt.

ISLE ROYALE UPDATE - A gray wolf that was translocated from Minnesota to @isleroyalenps last fall has wandered back to the mainland, trekking more than 15 miles across the frozen surface of Lake Superior to reach her home turf. GPS data was used to confirm the wolf had left Isle Royale on January 31 and was near the border between northeastern Minnesota and Ontario.

On Lake Superior, the Apostle Islands are often foggy and cold—but that doesn’t make them devoid of life. In fact, carnivores are thriving there, according to new research.
Friends, your many actions, contributions, petitions, phone calls and emails to your reps in congress have made a difference for wildlife this year.
:: ISLE ROYALE UPDATE :: Tracking collars on the new @isleroyalenps wolves show there is one area they will not go. According to park staff, although the new wolves have been exploring everywhere - they are not venturing too deep into the island's south quadrant which is the assumed general territory of the resident wolves, a male and female who are so inter-related they are not likely to have viable offspring. The two older wolves have been a lone pair for years, and are the last remnants of the island's formerly robust pack system. In addition to tracking movements, the park service is also monitoring if the wolves come within 250 meters of each other. This will be critical to figuring out how the wolves are pairing up and if packs begin to form...stay tuned as we continue to watch this story unfold ! #greatlakeswolves (photo courtesy of Michigan Tech and @wolvesandmooseofisleroyale)

- BREAKING NEWS - This morning the US House of Representatives passed HR 6784, the “Manage Our Wolves Act” despite vehement public opposition from constituents, scientists, hunters and business owners. The bill calls for the removal of federal protections for all wolves in the lower 48 with language that blocks any opportunity for judicial review. Stay tuned as we continue to follow developments on capitol hill... #KeepWolvesListed
Some positive news! The @centerforbiodiv sued the @USFWS yesterday, for violating the Endangered Species Act by never providing a comprehensive recovery plan for gray wolves nationwide, which is required by the law.
